this week we have a very bone chilling game, a game that has woe....a game that has horrors... a game that rapes the minds of many

random guy in a derpy voice: is it silent hill 2?

me: what? no

random guy: are you sure its not silent hill 2?

me: its not

random guy: but it sounds like sile

me: *i hit him with a home-run bat from smash brothers* ITS NEVER ENDING NIGHTMARES geese.......try to make an intro scary and some derp just walts in here and just thinking its silent hill 2.........maybe some day *creepy music*

ANYWAYS ON WITH THE REVIEW but 1st a short history lesson that i might Botch up *stock yay clip*

this game was made by a game developer who has suffered with depression and OCD, he thought about making a horror type game to help him and others, he posted it on kickstarter, and it just got enough money right before the time is up (so yeah it just got funded by a nose of time) so this game wont have much saddly but its still a good game

BUT dose it contain a well story, music and art style.......WELL WHY DO YOU THINK IM-A MAKE THIS RAVIEW LETS GET JIGGY....oh wait gameplay time

GAMEPLAY

in this game you walk with the usual walk controles and theres a run button......you pick stuff up, look at stuff... and trigger things....thats basically it mostly, but use your run sparingly because your character gets tired after awile, which if (IF) there is a monster (which therre are very few in this game, there are like 4 monster types) they will kill you

but dont worry, for there is no (you are dead) thing because this game acts li *BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN*.............really were going to do that if im goi *BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN*..............damn it this is going to be a theme in this review is it?..........ITSGOINGTOBELI *BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN*.....................that one movie................anywa *BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA* *cut*

keep a lookout for beds because they will most likely be your checkpoint.....because....well obviously you sleep on the bed......i dont need to spell it out we all know this......except for those who pretend that they are characters that are not human or animals then....im sorry if i have mistaken you for a hu *BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN* I DINT EVEN TRY TO METION IT

STORY AND CHARACTERS

This is a story about a man named *looks at name of the PC* Thomas who delves into a series of nightmares, starting with him MURDERING HIS SISTER.....named *looks at the name of the girl* Gabby


after that...........*sarcastically* pleasant image *normal talk* he awakes in another dr *BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN*.......-_- really.....

where he wander through his house, goes outside and to the graveyard, and sees that his sister is buried in a graveyard and weeps, only to wake up and see that she is alive and well. just like i*BWAAAAAAAAAAAN*...............

im going to stop there because the game is MOSTLY linear untill a certain point but let me say that you will be going through your own home to an asylum/hospital,

also to note there are only 3 endings thats all im saying...i wont say what they are you have to find that on your own accord.......well it would have had more if they have more money but like i said, it reached its goal in kickstarter by a thread so.......sorry

also the voice acting is not much to ride home about (i know i dont talk about voice acting much but in this case i need to state my opinion on that)

ART STYLE

the style of the game, is rather unique in a game, horror, no but in a game sure, everything is in the style of pencil shading, with the color scheme of black, white, and red, are there other colors....well...yeah, only few of the things that you need or interact to progress will be more colored

its like the object is screaming "HEY YA GOOF, IM A THING, LOOK AT ME"

also to go along with the pencil shading style, it actuly is HUGELY based on the art style of the late Edward Gorey, whom is well known for his books, for example he made The Gashlycrumb Tinies, which in fact is very popular

also red is also the main 3 colors in this.....because what other color could perfectly resemble blood (NOT PURPLE THAT IS A BAD CENSORSHIP IDEA FOR A HORROR OR M GAME AND IT JUST RAISES THE QUESTION WHY MAKE IT M IF YOU MAKE THE BLOOD PURPLE.......sorry) anyway get use to seeing it because you'll see it for a good chunk of the game

MUSIC

its creepy..and very depressing, which fits this game very well

speaking of audio you need to use headphones, its not an option its a requirement for you see

SCARE TACTICS

sometimes in the OST there will be certain voices that will come out like a soft whisper....its not much of a BOO game...more of an unnerving one to be more accurate, making you think something is happening around you

im not saying that there are no jumpscares....they just dont go in your face, its more of a suprise BOO, like a bird hitting a window thus killing it, your sister appearing behind you dead like in a lightning flash, and so forth, but there are few instances like that in the game

the game more or less just make you.....very unnerved....its more of an eerie more then it is scary, like i said in the begining its a psychological horror, it more gets in your mind then just go BOO every-time and most of the scenes and images wile playing just wants to make you want to say NOPE

also the monsters are very nerve wrecking, i mean, we got a giant deformed babyman, an insane guy whose eyes are shut, crazy jeff smile gabby and crazy jeff smile Thomas...........well thats......err.......comforting

also if they kill you (or when because its sometimes aquired to die because its kinda li *BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN* >X[) there are some instances where you see thomas......brutally causing himself self harm i dont want to get into details but it is more grotesque then what the monsters do to you.....*shivers*

also as you progress through the story..........you will question things....i wont say anything but trust me its weird and or creepy

FINAL THOUGHTS

this game is truly terrifying, mostly because of how real it might be, i mean its a game about nightmares, a *BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN*QUIET YOU

also it dose have a deep meaning about depression which can be portrayed rather well seeing that the guy who made this game suffered from it himself

even though the story could be rather short its still great

the music is creepy as it is depressing (mostly the ending music which is mostly depressing

and the art, which is based on Edward Gorey, a rather nice touch in my honest opinion

so its no surprise that the art and the music is strong in this one

if you want to check it out its on steam or the OUYA.......yeah i never said that till now you wont regret it
